GOLD MEDAL
GAME SUSPENDED

Ottawa – In the seventh inning of the gold medal game of the Baseball Canada Cup championship, heavy rain started to fall and suspended the game between British Columbia and Québec. The game will resume at 9 am Monday.

British Columbia leads in the top of the seventh inning 5-0 with a runner on first and nobody out. In the bronze medal game, Ontario beat Saskatchewan by a score of 9-2 to capture third place. Champions were crowned however in all the other divisions at the Baseball Canada National Championships in Québec City.

The host team Québec City won the gold medal in the Senior Men’s championship over Manitoba by a score of 5-1. British Columbia would take the bronze, beating Ontario (Oshawa) 7-3.

Québec was victorious in both the Pee-Wee Girls and Bantam Girls as the Pee-Wee Québec girls came back from a 11-6 deficit to win 15-11 over British Columbia. Bantam Québec Girls took out Alberta by a score of 11-3. Québec City captured the bronze in both of these divisions.

At the Senior Women’s championship, Ontario took home the gold medal over Alberta with a 6-2 win and Québec won the bronze with a convincing win over Nova Scotia.
