RAIN BACKS UP THE CONCLUSION OF DAY
ONE OF WEEK TWO AT NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

Ottawa – With the rain falling in the afternoon, it pushed back the finish of the first day of the second week at the Baseball Canada National Championships in Québec City, but all game were concluded with the exception of one.

The only exception is the game between Prince-Edward Island and Saskatchewan at the Pee-Wee Boys championship. The game will be played at 5 pm on Friday.

In other Pee-Wee matchups, British Columbia beat New Brunswick 5-3. Alberta lost to Manitoba 8-5 and Québec shutout Newfoundland and Labrador by a score of 10-0.

In the Midget championship, Alberta registered their first win of the tournament, 4-1 over British Columbia. Québec City shutout Saskatchewan 3-0 and Québec doubled up on New Brunswick by a score of 6-3.

Nova Scotia came out on top of a tight game with Manitoba, shutting out the central province by a score of 1-0. Elsewhere, Ontario edged the host team Québec City, 5-4 in eight innings and Québec shutout Newfoundland and Labrador 7-0.

Two one-sided games and three tight games were the story in the Bantam Boys championship. Nova Scotia and Québec take home a pair of lopsided wins, 10-1 and 20-0 respectively. Saskatchewan edged New Brunswick 8-7, while Québec City beat Ontario by one run, 4-3 and Manitoba fell to British Columbia by a final score of 4-3.
