EXPOS BASEBALL ON TEAM 990 RADIO
MONTREAL'S SPORTS AUTHORITY
MONTREAL The Montreal Expos today announced that an agreement has been reached with THE TEAM 990, Montreal's all-sports radio station, to broadcast Expos baseball for a third consecutive year. The announcement was made jointly by Expos' Executive Vice-President, Business Affairs, Claude Delorme and Team 990's Vice-President and General Manager, Lee Hambleton.
"We are extremely grateful to Sam Eltes of Silver Star Mercedes and Goldenpalace.com for their participation and financial support in making this transaction a reality", said Delorme. "The title sponsorship will belong to Silver Star Mercedes and presenting sponsorship will be held by Goldenpalace.com ". The Expos first broadcast will be on Monday, April 7 directly from Wrigley Field in Chicago for the Cubs' Home Opener, starting at 2:00 p.m. Elliott Price will continue to handle the play-by-play and will work throughout the season with a variety of color commentators. For broadcasts from Olympic Stadium, THE TEAM 990's Mitch Melnick will join Price for a significant
number of home games. Melnick will also assume the position of Executive Producer of Expos broadcasts. For road games, guests will include former players, sports journalists and local personalities who will handle commentary and analysis. The Expos' championship season opens this afternoon at Turner Field against the Braves.
After stops in Atlanta, New York, Chicago and San Juan, Opening Night at Olympic Stadium is slated for Tuesday, April 22 at 7:05 against the West Division Champion Arizona Diamondbacks. For the occasion, THE TEAM 990 will feature a special pre-game show directly from the stadium.
