Montreal – The Montreal Expos today announced that lefthanded reliever Chad Bentz, righthanded pitcher Shawn Hill and outfielder Brandon Watson have been added to the club's 40-man roster. The announcement was made by Vice President and General Manager, Omar Minaya.

He becomes the first Canadian, signed and developed by the Expos, to be added to the major-league roster since Derek Aucoin in 1996.

He was born with a deformed right hand and uses his left hand to pitch and field.

BrandonWatson, 22, a 6-1, 170 lb. lefthanded batter from Inglewood, CA, had an outstanding year in his first full season at the AA-level with Harrisburg. He finished second in the Eastern League in hits (180, one shy of the leader Alexis Rios of New Haven) and was fifth in batting (.319). He set a Senators' single-season hit record, breaking the previous mark of 172 that stood for 17 years by outfielder Tommy Gregg in 1987. Watson batted .377 and scored 44 runs in his final 50 games. He also became only the second Senators' batter with six hits in a game, going 6-for-6 at Akron on July 4th.
