TORONTOThe TORONTO BLUE JAYS have signed Corey Koskie to a three year contract with an option for 2008. Koskie will receive a $3 million signing bonus and salaries of $2.5 million in 2005, $5.25 million 2006 and $5.75 million in 2007. The salary for 2008, the option year, is $6.5 million dollars.

Corey Koskie, 31, hit .251 in 118 games last season for the Minnesota Twins with 24 doubles, 25 home runs and 71 RBI. The 6-3, 225lb left-handed hitter recorded 49 walks and 103 strikeouts.

In 816 career games, the Anola, Manitoba native has a career average of .280 with 101 home runs, 437 RBI and a .373 on-base percentage. KOSKIE, who was the co-winner of the 2001 Tip O'Neill Award for Canadian Baseball Player of the Year with Larry Walker, has spent his entire career in the Twins organization after being drafted in the 26th round of the 1994 First Year Player Draft.
