BLUE JAYS WELCOME
TRAILER PARK BOYS
FOR FIRST PITCH

TORONTO – The TORONTO BLUE JAYS are pleased to announce the stars of TRAILER PARK BOYS will take to the mound on GENERAL MOTORS OPENING NIGHT 2005 presented by THE TORONTO STAR. "JULIAN" (John Paul Tremblay), "RICKY" (Robb Wells) and "BUBBLES" (Mike Smith) will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the BLUE JAYS take the field against the Boston Red Sox on FRIDAY, APRIL 8 (7:15 pm).

TRAILER PARK BOYS is a popular Canadian TV sitcom that airs on Showcase. The humourous mock-umentary centres around the lives and exploits of three young residents of a Halifax-area trailer park. The show will soon enter its fifth season with ten new episodes set to begin airing on April 17th at 9:00 pm.

PAUL GODFREY, the Blue Jays President & CEO, says, "The Blue Jays have been proud to salute Canadian comics and actors with invitations to throw out the first pitch. We're glad to continue that tradition, giving the nod and the ball to these young men who have developed such a large and devoted following across our country and into the United States."

The first pitch from the TRAILER PARK BOYS adds to an already exciting evening. GENERAL MOTORS OPENING NIGHT 2005 presented by THE TORONTO STAR will mark the public's first look at the newly renovated ROGERS CENTRE, which includes a new video display system and playing surface. As well, internationally renowned rocker SLASH will perform the national anthems on his guitar.
