PLACE GREGG ZAUN
ON 15-DAY DISABLED LIST

TORONTO – Blue Jays place Zaun on 15-day DLThe TORONTO BLUE JAYS have placed catcher GREGG ZAUN on the 15-day disabled list and have purchased the contract of catcher ANDY DOMINIQUE from Syracuse of the International League (AAA).

ZAUN, 34, suffered a concussion in today's against the Chicago White Sox while sliding into second base attempting to break up a double play. In 28 games this season the 5-10, 190lb. switch-hitter is batting .275 with seven doubles, three homeruns and 20 RBI. ZAUN will be re-evaluated tomorrow prior to his release from Mt. Sinai Hospital in Toronto. A timetable for his return has not been set.

DOMINIQUE, 29, has appeared in 20 games for the SkyChiefs this season batting .169 with a double, a home run and five RBI. The 6-0, 220lb. right-handed hitter has appeared in seven Major League games, all with the 2004 Boston Red Sox where he hit .182 with an RBI in 11 at bats. DOMINIQUE, a native of Tarzana, California, was originally drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 26th round of the 1997 First Year Player Draft.
