WINOOSKI The Vermont Expos raised over $6,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation with the money raised from the "Hot Stove" Banquet and Auction in January and the jersey auction on the final night of the 2004 season last September.
Among the top items auctioned off at the "Hot Stove" Banquet, a pair of roundtrip tickets to anywhere in the continental United States from Jet Blue went for $625, while the opportunity to coach first base at an Expos game went for $450 and an autographed Tiki Barber football went for $375. A couple of Boston Red Sox items were also among the highest-bidded items as a framed autographed photo of Doug Mientkiewicz catching the final out of the 2004 World Series went for $600 and an autographed photo of David Ortiz went for $525.
