The STS-100 crew travelled to space on April 19, 2001 for the 9th mission to the International Space Station Alpha. The crew successfully delivered and installed the Space Staion "Canadarm2" robotic arm that will be used for future Space Station assembly and maintenance tasks. Colonel Chris Hadfield and Dr. Scott Parazynski conducted two spacewalks to assemble and power the next generation robotic arm.
