after hitting three home runs in a game,
CECIL FIELDER did it again, becoming only the fourth player in AL
history to do so twice in the same season, as his DETROIT TIGERS
defeated the CLEVELAND INDIANS, 6-4. In 1989, he had played for the
HANSHIN TIGERS of the CENTRAL LEAGUE in Japan. He finished the 1990
campaign with 51 homers, becoming the first to go over the 50 home run
mark since 1977 when GEORGE FOSTER stroked 52 for his CINCINNATI REDS.

Wilkerson is the fourth player in history to hit for the cycle on June
24. Dave Winfield did it with the Angels against the Royals in 1991,
Bob Watson pulled the trick in 1977 with the Astros against the Giants
and the Pirates' Arky Vaughan did it against the Dodgers in 1933.
Wilkerson is the first Expo since Rondell White in 1995 to hit for the
cycle. White collected his four hits against the Giants in San
Francisco. Overall, the Expos now have five players – BRAD WILKERSON,

scored the winning run in the 1st Annual PEARSON CUP exhibition game, a

Canadian-based major league teams, on Canadian soil. Ironically, it was
while scoring the winning run that he suffered a severe groin injury
which kept him with the Class-AAA DENVER BEARS until his return to
